devlog #3 - Non-dominant hand art


I was able to make a majority of the main character assets for the game today. I was looking into implementing the dialogue system, but will have to save that for tomorrow or Tuesday for now. Not much to say... except that it’s freakin’ beautiful :)

Only scripting that I did today was this super short script that “animated” the characters by cycling through two textures (with an exception of the duck. It got THREE whole textures).


I’ll be pretty busy tomorrow with stuff, so I may or may not have much time to work on the game. So I’ll just state my plan for whenever I do have time to work on it again:

  • Add at least 5-8 more different sticky objects (currently only have radish, sunscreen, ring, ice cream)
  • Create bouncy objects (beach umbrella, tents, 
  • Implement scoring system based on:
    • Heads hit
      • First hit gives more points than subsequent hits
      • Wandering heads have more points
      • Hitting a duck will subtract points
    • Items absorbed
      • Different items have different values
  • Dialogue System
  • Timer
  • Beach Environment

And then for when I need a break from work, I plan on working on the actual dialogue/general story in between.
